破折号　dash　　语法学术语。一种标点符号，书写形式为“—”，比连字号长（英语中占一个汉字的长度，中文里占两个汉字的长度），用以表示思维的突然中断、分割成分或解释说明。例如：［1］He's running for reelection — if he lives until then.　［2］Very few people in this class — three, to be exact — have completed their projects.　［3］She joined the chorus for only one reason — she loves to sing.　在最后一个句子中，当破折号用于句末，而不是句子中间时，可以由冒号代替破折号的功能。
